FAQs

Can't find the answers

1. What should I wear to class?

Dress comfortably in activewear so that you're able to move easily. Leggings/ tights/ shorts and a comfortable top.

You will also need to wear grippy socks which are available for purchase in studio. Please note: Grippy socks are COMPULSORY for hygiene and safety purposes.

2. What should I bring to class?

Bring a water bottle and a sweat towel. Don't forget your grip socks if you're not already wearing them. We have cold, filtered water in studio for you to fill up your drink bottles. We also have a shelf for you to put your things down in.

3. Which class should I attend?

If you're new to reformer, the Reformer Foundation class is best for you. If you've been coming for a while, feel comfortable on the reformer and enjoy a slower flow, join our Reformer Flow class. If you enjoy a strong  balance and stability challenge, then the Reformer Active is best for you. Our Reformer Jumpboard class is for those days when you want a more dynamic flow, with cardio bursts on the jumpboard. You may also enjoy alternating between classes, depending on how you are feeling.

4. Can I attend regardless of my fitness levels?

Yes, for sure! We are all for supporting you on your fitness journey regardless of how fit or unfit you are. If you're concerned about your fitness level but you're confident on the Reformer, we recommend attending our Reformer Flow class for a slower flow. This will be a gentle start for you, allowing you to rest between movements so you can build up your fitness for our more challenging classes when you feel ready. Let your instructor know where you are on your fitness journey so we can best support you.

5. I've just had a baby, can I still attend classes?

Yes, as long as you are beyond 6 weeks post partum and have been given the go-ahead from a health care professional, you can attend classes. We recommend that you start off in our Reformer Foundation class for a gentle start and then build from their as your fitness and energy levels improve. Let your instructor know how many weeks post partum you are so that we can best support you in regaining strength safely.

6. What is your cancellation policy?

Our 12 hour cancellation policy is there to ensure that clients are able to book and attend classes in a timely manner and so that the studio can function optimally.

All cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before the class starts or the class payment will be made in full.

7. Can I bring my child to class with me?

For health, safety and for legal purposes, we do not allow children or anyone not booked into the class to attend any other classes (even if they're just sitting quietly on their iPad, sorry!)

8. Is there a minimum membership term?

Yes, all memberships have a minimum term of 12 weeks. Thereafter memberships are ongoing until you cancel the membership. To cancel the membership, you must email studio@activeflowpilates.com.au with 7 days notice.

9. I'm going on holiday, can I freeze my membership?

Yes, you get 1 freeze every 12 weeks. Please email studio@activeflowpilates.com.au with at least 7 days notice, giving us dates of when you would like to freeze and unfreeze your membership. You can freeze for a period up to 14 days.

10. I am pregnant, can I still attend classes?

Yes, you can. As long as you are experiencing a healthy pregnancy and have not been told not to exercise, then it is safe for you to attend. Our Reformer Foundation class is best for pregnancy when you are still learning how to modify movements. Our Reformer Flow class is also suitable, once you feel confident with your modifications. Our Reformer Active and Jumpboard classes are not recommended however, each pregnancy is unique so we are happy to discuss this with you personally. Reach out to Michelle via Momence or email to discuss further. Please ensure you let your instructor know that you are pregnant so that we can make a note of this on file. (We promise we won't tell anyone! But it is best for you and your baby to let your instructor know as soon as you do.) Some of our teachers are trained for pre and post natal Pilates. Learn more about our instructors here.

11. Can I try your classes at a discounted rate?

Yes! We have a 5 Classes for $55 Intro Offer for new clients. That's only $11 per class! This is for you to try out our classes and try out different instructors to see if our studio is a good fit for you.

12. How old do I need to be to attend classes?

You need to be 16 years or older to attend classes. You must be booked into the class to attend. If you are over the age of 14, you can attend under the supervision of an adult attending the class too. You will both need to be booked into the class. It is recommended that you attend our Reformer Foundation class to get started.

13.How do I book a class? Can I just attend a class without booking?

You need to book a class to attend to avoid disappointment of classes which are already fully booked. We also need you to book in order for us to keep track of your class attendance for legal purposes. If you are not booked in, you will not be able to attend the class.

To book, go to book online, select which class you'd like to attend and make payment. You also need to sign the waiver prior to attending classes.

14.I have been added to a waitlist. How do waitlists work?

Once classes are fully booked, we have a waitlist available and you will then be added to the waitlist. Cancellations are not uncommon, so if a spot becomes available, all members on the waitlist will receive an email/ SMS and you can then accept the booking or not. This works on a fastest fingers first basis. Please note that if you accept the booking, our 12 hour cancellation policy applies. Learn more about our cancellation policy
