FAQs
I've never done Pilates before, can I still join?

Yes, we love supporting beginners on their Pilates journey and this is a great time for you to get started. We'd suggest you arrive 15 minutes early for your first class to settle in and have a quick introduction to the Reformer. If you'd prefer to attend a private introduction, that could be arranged too and bub could come along for that too.

How many weeks post-partum do I need to be to join?

We recommend waiting until you’ve had your 6-week postpartum check and have been cleared to return to exercise before joining Mums & Bubs. Every recovery is different, so if you’ve had a Caesarean birth, complications, pelvic floor concerns, pain or you’re unsure whether you’re ready, we recommend checking with your GP, obstetrician or women’s health physiotherapist first. Join us when your body feels ready.

What if I have abdominal separation or pelvic floor concerns?

Please let your instructor know before class so we can provide appropriate exercise options. If you have symptoms such as pain, heaviness, leaking or significant concerns, we may recommend seeing a women’s health physiotherapist before or alongside returning to exercise.

What if I miss a week?

We understand that things happen and you may be unable to attend a class during the Mums & Bubs 6-week block. If you miss a class then you'll be able to attend a make up class by booking our Reformer Flow class before the end of November 2026. Unfortunately however, your bub won't be able to attend this class with you. We run classes almost every day of the year, including weekends so hopefully you can find a time that works for you.

How do I get started?

The best way for you to get yourself started at Active Flow is to jump in for a trial. Our Intro Offer for new members allows you to attend 5 classes over a 14 day period. Your trial starts the day you attend your first class. You get to try a variety of classes, and different instructors to see what you enjoy most.

Excited to join Mums & Bubs Pilates?

Whether you're completely new to Pilates or looking forward to getting back to it post-partum,

we'd love to welcome you to the Active Flow Mums & Bubs community.
